EU-Vietnam FTA: Colour-coding compliance issues

The preferential agreement with #Vietnam has been in force since August 1st, 2020. The #EU customs administration is now informing that EUR.1 movement certificates issued in Vietnam, the background of which is provided with an overprint in blue instead of green, cannot currently be recognized for preferential treatment. It is currently being examined at the European level whether these non-compliant movement certificates #EUR.1 can be recognized, possibly also within a transitional period to be determined. Customs authorities, therefore, recommend importers not to apply for preferential treatment based on these non-compliant movement certificates, as the preferential treatment applied for would have to be rejected for technical reasons during import clearance. If a transitional regulation should come into effect, the importers will be informed further.
