Curriculum

This course is unique. It does not exsist elsewhere in the market.

Course ID: CP1-CP14

The "Professional Competencies" 2-part series focuses on the 28 skills needed in a professional customs environment. As any customs expert can attest, one cannot accomplish the job without thoroughly understanding these areas. Students will gain foundational knowledge and awareness of the vital "soft personal skills" needed to be a successful and respected custom professional over two courses. Mastering these soft skills – at the individual level - is essential to fulfilling the commitments made at the previous module's fundamental cultural values and engaging effectively with a diverse variety of internal and external stakeholders – the fundamental requirement of the next module.

The Professional "soft skills" Competencies that customs professionals are required to meet and that we will study in this course are:

1. Act as a Role Model

2. Adaptability to Change

3. Analytical Thinking

4. Coaching/Mentoring

5. Conflict Management

6. Coping with stress

7. Data Management

8. Dealing with Operational Risk

9. Decision Making
