About the event

Explore the development of EU and UK Sanctions Against Russia over the last 24 months - on the eve of the outbreak of the war in Europe. Since the illegal and brutal invasion of Russia on Ukraine's sovereign territory, tensions between Russia and the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) have escalated, leading to the imposition of several sanctions. The EU and UK have implemented these sanctions as a response to Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the full scale invasion on 24 February 2022. Over the last 24 months, these sanctions have included travel bans, asset freezes, and restrictions on specific sectors, such as energy and defence. These measures aim to exert economic pressure on Russia and encourage a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis. But what were they and have they been successful? Are sanctions the solution to end the war?

Join Arne Mielken and his guests, experts in sanctions policy on Russia to discuss this from the EU and the UK perspective. Gain insights into the lastest round of sanctions in the EU and the UK as well as an overview of all sanctions currently imposed.

This is a free webinar for anyone interested in joining the debate. If you would like to take the floor and deliver a presentation or join the debate please e-mail info@customsmanger.org as we are always interested in hearing from our community and wish to give the floor to those practitioners who do not often get the chance to speak at these events. We'd like to hear from you.
