Get certified for the upcoming UK carbon tax. This 3-hour live course covers HMRC compliance, liability calculations, and risk mitigation.
UK CBAM Certification Training: Is Your Supply Chain Ready for 2027?
The landscape of British trade compliance is fast approaching its most significant regulatory shift since Brexit. Starting 1 January 2027, the UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (UK CBAM) officially goes live.

Unlike the EU model, the UK is skipping a prolonged transitional reporting phase and launching directly with full financial tax liabilities. For businesses importing heavy industrial materials, carbon is about to become a major customs and financial audit reality.
To help trade professionals stay ahead of the curve, we are running monthly live, highly interactive 3-hour Zoom training masterclasses explicitly designed around the upcoming UK regulations and the IACBAM 3004:2025 - CBAM Fundamentals curriculum.
The Strategic Importance of IACBAM 3004:2025 Certification
The IACBAM 3004:2025 standard is a globally recognized professional benchmark. It ensures that individuals across the global supply chain (both within the UK and overseas) can formally demonstrate the core competencies required to navigate CBAM laws.
Following this training session, students will be fully equipped to pursue the official IACBAM 3004:2025 certification.

Are You Ready for the UK Carbon Border Mechanism in 2027?
What You’ll Learn: The 6-Module Agenda
This intensive live course strips away the dense legislative jargon to give you a step-by-step roadmap to compliance.
Module 1: Introduction to CBAM & Background
Introduction: Purpose, significance, and core objectives of the mechanism; why carbon border adjustments are vital for global trade resilience.
Background: The evolution of carbon pricing, mitigating "carbon leakage," and the critical policy shifts guiding the transition into the definitive compliance phase.
Module 2: Legal Framework, Resources & Scope (Including Commodity Codes)
Scope of CBAM: Identifying the initial 5 targeted sectors (Aluminium, Cement, Fertilisers, Hydrogen, and Iron & Steel).
Annex Integration: Commodity Codes Within Scope: A deep dive into the specific tariff subheadings and product groupings that fall under the regulation, allowing you to accurately audit your inbound product portfolio.
Legal Framework: Navigating primary UK legislation, Finance Bill developments, and utilizing official HMRC guidance tools to ensure data accuracy.
Module 3: Step-by-Step CBAM Process & Tax Points
When CBAM Goods are Imported: Pinpointing the exact "tax point" (customs release for free circulation vs. entry dates) that triggers compliance liabilities.
The Six Steps to Full Compliance: A clear, operational walk-through from identifying inbound exposure and calculating thresholds to executing the full import workflow seamlessly.
Module 4: Key Terminology, Stakeholders & Liability Calculations
Calculating CBAM Liability: The mechanics of determining your carbon tax exposure—comparing actual verified installation data versus government default emissions values, adjusting for free allocations, and factoring in Carbon Price Relief (CPR) for explicit carbon prices already paid in the country of origin.
Key Terminology & Stakeholders: Roles and legal definitions of UK importers, indirect customs representatives, overseas producers, accredited verifiers, and HMRC.
Module 5: Administration, Accounting Periods & Returns
Administration: Understanding registration criteria—specifically navigating the £50,000 minimum registration threshold based on rolling 12-month forward- and backward-looking tests via Government Gateway.
Accounting Periods, Returns, Payments, and Repayments: Managing the operational timeline. Master the details of the initial 2027 annual return (due 31 May 2028) and the subsequent transition to a quarterly accounting and payment cycle in 2028.
